Huleboeren
- What do you use to download movies? (beware ;)) - What is your upload speed? - What is your download speed?
jamend
Most P2P networks (BitTorrent etc.) use a lot of bandwidth and connections, which will affect your latency in games. Put simply, it will lag...
Iian K
If you have high speed internet, you could use your PS3 with either a wired or wireless connection. :)
night_stalker_z
It will affect your PS3 online if you dont know how to set it up and if you dont have a fast enough connection.
Internet
You can specify using regedit how much certain applications are allowed to use of your allotted internet speed. If downloading through http (rapidshare etc) you can allot 50% of your connection to the computers http alone (sporting the fact you have a good connection) if you have a poor connection and need more bandwidth gaming, then allot yourself 20% on the computer.... it can be changed back later. Although keep in mind the movie will take a bit longer but you won't lag. I don't remember where i read up on it, but i googled something like "windows xp connection tweaks" or something along those lines. Alternately, depending on your router type, you can manually configure the alloted bandwidth of certain ports through using a console cable and typing the localhost address into IE. Good luck. cashman Veteran Posted January 20, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2008 yes! I have a 4mb connection: 3957 down 383 up 21 ping You will get away with downloading if you limit your upload and download streams, most programmes have an option to do it. Limitting your upload will probably be the most important thing because you will be lucky to get an 8mb download speed.
night_stalker_z
That is quite good. You should have enough to download and go online without lag.
