Foub
I like the fonts of Mac OS, is there any possible to use Mac OS fonts in Linux? such as Suse, etc? I think that this allows you to configure the fonts in Linux to be like Apple's? http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/ubuntu/enab...n-ubuntu-linux/
markwolfe Veteran Posted January 20, 2008 Veteran Share Posted January 20, 2008 Possible. Most likely. Legal to copy and use? Not likely at all. Vista has some fonts now that are pretty restrictively licensed. Older versions of Windows had a license that was loose enough to say your PC was licensed to use the fonts as long as you had a valid Windows license for that PC (and most PCs are sold with Windows pre-installed). You would need to check into the specifics of the Apple licensing. On the other hand, it is perfectly legal to "clone" a font. As long as it isn't a computerized transformation of the font files. Someone has to print and trace/re-define the font lines and curves manually. But that method gets identical fonts without copyright infringement. Menge
just answering: yes it's possible :p and if you set the font rendering to ignore hinting, then it looks just like OS X's rendering :)
