got it and spent a good 4 hours straight playing it. i love it, and i honestly have to say the demo is crap compared to the real thing. playing online is great as well, and the mugshot feature is hilarious. i would definitely recommend the game to anyone, and for those who hated the demo, at least give the game a rent because the real thing is much better.

I bought it.. played it for a few mins. One thing I noticed is why is it when I crash in a race or other event it just respawns me? Sort defeats the purpose of avoiding the other cars?

I am going to go and buy this on Friday (maybe even Thursday midnight if I feel like a drive to Asda). Anyone found it semi-cheap anywhere in the UK though? I should have thought about the price of games before I invested in the next generation consoles!!

There is a few things keeping me from going out and getting this...

no replay after races or challenges

no crash mode

only 1 city (paradise City) although I did read it was huge (200 miles)

I actually had it reserved for a long time but recentley put that cash on Devil May Cry 4...

Im sure the game will be bad @ss..but I will most likely rent it but I dont know about spending 65 bucks on it though....

^^^I haven't heard of any. He's just spreading FUD for his console of choice.

He said 'IMHO' ... just because it's an opinion doesn't make it true. I wish people would get this into their heads.

All FUD on the internet pretty much originates from opinions.

An opinion like that should be backed up, but this ain't a perfect world.

Chill, since it was developed on the PS3 primarily perhaps it has something to do with that

Your wrong about the crash mode, they've made it very clear and I don't know why people still don't believe them, the developers said "Yes there is a crash mode, just has a different name" I don't know why you wouldn't believe that.

I hope you were talking about the same crash mode I'm thinking of. Your given a level and you have to cause as much damage as you can to get the gold medal?

Also, IMO, I like the one city concept, like the free roam in the previous Need For Speed games, just drive around a living city.

I'm still thinking about it.

If you do find it cheap in any store, do tell, while I may not be in your general area, or even in England, I can hope if someone finds a cheap version in a certain shop, it will be the same here.

@Huleboren - It wasn't supposed to look like I was taking offense or anything - it's fine that he wants it on the PS3, I understand that as it is his primary console, but it is a baseless comment. They developed on the PS3 so the PS3 version would be as good as the 360 version, unlike what happens when devs start on the 360.

1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.

Opinions need no backup whatsoever however turning an opinion into a statement does.

Theres a difference between the two?

the differences are very small, even negligible. people over at neogaf are saying that the 360 version has some slight slowdowns in some places, but you'll barely notice it since you're driving so fast anyway. i think only the graphics ###### will notice. overall though, the 2 versions are identical and both are great, so it all comes down to console preference.

and yes, the ps3 was the lead platform for the developers.

Some opinions do, lest they get labeled as FUD.

You can't come around these parts and say 'I think Game X is better on this console' and not give a reason why.

Well thats good about the crash mode.. but what about the replay to the challenges? If I lose a race by 2 seconds.. does that mean I have to drive all the way across the city to retry it again? Ya it is nice that this game is doing the Free Roam like the NFS games have been for years.. but its nothing new to the Genre...

Nothing much just graphical differences if you care about that stuff.

Here is from the 1UP review:

But which platform offers the consummate version of Paradise? While the PlayStation 3 edition sports a slight visual edge (a few superior textures, no screen tearing) and arguably superior controller triggers, the Xbox 360 offering plays identically, and both sport that amazingly intuitive online interface. And since the PS3 version fails to deliver a custom soundtrack option (blame Sony), the Xbox 360's ability to rescue you from a cavalcade of crappy Burnout 2 track remixes and Avril Lavigne nonsense can't be underestimated.

The reason I said the PS3 version was the one to get IMHO was it was the lead platform.

I think we should merge this thread with the X360 version of the burnout thread - the more discussing the SAME game the better

Just like how I post in the X360 cod4 thread even tho I own the PS3 version! ^^

I agree somewhat, the problem with talking about games these days, multi-platform ones obviously, is that people get split into what console they are playing it on, not that I can blame them, some people like to take pot shots at the other console whenever possible which can end up totally devouring a topic.

Things should only be split when talking about on-line games, simply because the consoles aren't compatible on-line.

We could keep it completely anonymous ^^ Not mention what console theyre playing that game on..

Obviously conflicts with the online part :/

I've downloaded the demo on the PS3 and it is not bad, but I probally won't be buying it as I felt Revenge was heaps better. I particulary don't like the races, allowing you to go anywhere while doing a race (i.e. not confined to a preset path) while it does allow for more freedom and creativity, it also creates more frustration (for me). The amount of times I lost the race in the demo cause I went down the wrong road or a wrong turn, it just turned what could of been a very fun game to a very frustrating and annoying one. The free roam is quite fun, but the races are just so frustrating for me that all I'd be doing it free roaming and I think I'd loose interest in the game very quickly (like I did with the demo)..I know it's more down to that I suck at playing it though :p but still I'm less inclined to buy a game if I know I can't enjoy it properly.
