Juts
Well, i've been using ubuntu for a while now, and recently I installed a new hard drive. It's a 500gb SATA Seagate drive i pulled out of a Maxtor enclosure. About 90% of the time when i boot into ubuntu it never finishes booting and pops up with an error starting :"Exception Emask 0x0...." The 10% of the time that it does boot correctly, the hard drive works fine, can mount/unmount. I've run a hard drive test and it passed. It also works just fine in windows. I use ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy and my problem seems pretty similar to this: http://www.devlib.org/forums/ubuntu-7-10-t1816.html Anyone know of a fix? Unholy Moley!
It would help to have your full dmesg output. Go to /var/log/dmesg with the drive in and post the contents.
