Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Priced and Dated

Recommended Posts

I think what people mean, is that they will get more value (relative to price) out of this, than most racing games out there, be it sim or arcade (I don't think anyone said racing sims specifically, as that narrows it down drastically). Period.

But to elaborate on its value: 1. It will be the prettiest game out there, and 2. If only for its 16 person online play, it probably means they'll be playing it a lot more than NFS, PGR4, Forza? etc. etc, which graphically, those range from looking pretty crappy to only decent (IMO). Also, most racing games do have very few cars, compare it to NFS, which is "popular." The NFS series probably sells more than any other arcade racing game(s), as EA keeps pumping out one every year, and I played Carbon, Most wanted, IIRC, something like 30-40 cars. It has about the same cars as Dirt, which is a full fledged $60 game, and I don't even know if it has online play. There's a reason why GT is so Huge, because the value they get is far greater than any racing game out there.

Lastly, I'm an absolute diehard GT fan, but currently, afaik, there's more realistic sim's out there. I've heard of a few on the pc, and I don't really like them, just don't feel as polished. But my point is, GT is not an Uber-Sim game, just the most popular one in the world.

The graphics do do a lot if you're a car fan. AAA graphics are a must for GT/Driving simulators IMO.

Nothing "feels" better than racing around the track in that :o BMW you couldn't afford in real life - Especially now with the interior replicated perfectly

How did you get that $40 = ?27 fo a direct conversion?

direct conversion $40 is ?20. Add VAT you get around ?23.50. Add a little more and you get around ?25-?30.

RRP is ?24.99, amazon have it for ?17.98 which imo is a bargain
