Steven P. Administrators Posted January 30, 2008 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2008 Ever since I saw Bawx's thread yesterday I just had to give TMP a try, is it me or does it cause lag when browsing, I also noticed that when i select a tab, sometimes it won't "focus" the first time I click the tab, causing me to have to select it a second time. Am I the only one experiencing this?
IceDogg
I haven't used TMP in a long long time, but I know that many of the tab extensions caused focus problems when I used them. As for lag, I don't know for sure about currently, but that is another reason I quit using tab extensions. Just wasn't worth the cost to me. No knock on TMP, as I haven't used it in a long time and things change. Also is this on nightly or latest stable release? I ask because there has been some talk about extension issue with the nightly builds right now. I think I remember something about TMP specifically, but I'm not sure it was a lag issue. Sorry I couldn't be much help. But I thought some reply was better then none.
Bawx
Using it for 2 days, I haven't noticed any slow down whatsoever. I use Maxthon exclusively and I can tell FF is quite faster. I like it, but I'm so used to the way mouse gestures, tabsm drag n drop, works with Maxthon. It's hard to change. When selecting a tab on the tab bar, I notice it doesn't pop-up instantly, It takes like 0.3 seconds to come up.

I was just curios what it's other uses are every one browses differently and wants different features. i didn't use firefox until ver 1.0 was released. after i discovered TMP, i made firefox my default browser. you can get some of the features thru about:config settings or other smaller extensions, but i use some TMP options from every one of its option tabs. there are too many options to list. look thru TMP's user guide: http://www.tidycms.com/ocean/extensions/Ta...us/TMPHelp2.pdf

Yochanan
TMP takes the place of many other extensions. Some people don't realize this and have other extensions duplicating actions TMP does and wonder why they're having problems. I think the TMP team should integrate duplicate extension detection like MR Tech Local Install does.

I know there's a bunch of mouse gesture plugins for FireFox out there, you should give some of them a try.
shihchiun
Yeah, it's been causing crashes like crazy for me, so I had to get rid of it. Too bad, as I liked being able to actually see all my tabs.

shihchiun
How do you know it's TMP causing the crashes? What other extensions do you have installed? When I uninstalled it, the crashes and other issues stopped happening. I mean, I guess there could be some interactions between TMP and the other extensions, but then again I don't really care that much.
