This should be telling of my age...

Desktop:

*80286 - 12mhz (first system built at age 6)

80386 - 33mhz (second system built, 4 whole megs of ram!)

80486 - 120mhz (80mhz AMD "overclocked" and stable 24/7) (16 megs of ram and a 2x cdrom!)

K6-200 (64 meg of ram, 4x cd-rw, 4 (40gig) HD's... it was a beast in college)

K6-350 (built to upgrade above, instead gave to my mother)

K7-700 (dual Diamond Monster 3D II's, Diamond Stealth s220 video card, Diamond Monster Sound audio card) Great gaming computer for it's time.

K7-900 (chip swapped into system above, not a big difference in gaming. took the 700 and put it in a computer for serving movies)

K7-1000 (... I never actually ran this board, test bedded and got a good deal on an Athlon XP)

Athlon XP 2400+ (currently my teraserver)

Athlon XP 2500+ (using as a movie editing machine, nothing serious)

*Athlon 64 3800+ (was in my main pc)

Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (Main PC at home, gaming)

Pentium 233mhz (chip sitting on my desk for decoration)

Pentium II 333mhz (x2 in server) (in case, no use for it... might try to sell it or give it away)

Pentium III 900mhz (x2 in server) (in case, no use for it... might tinker with it soon)

Pentium IV 3.0ghz (socket 478) (My DVR computer)

* denotes no longer in my posesion. (all the others are)

Notebook CPU's:

Pentium 50

Pentium 133

Pentium III 750

Pentium III 700

Pentium M 2.0

Celeron 600mhz

All in IBM Thinkpad's and all still run perfectly.

In summer 2003 I brough my first PC with a Pentium huh, 120MHz I think.

But I consider my first PC as the second one, it was a Dual P2 333MHz Workstation

I got a Celeron 300A as second machine. Then it went fast.

Athlon K7 600MHz

Duron 1200MHz

(Second machine as been updated to 800MHz P3)

Athlon 64 3000+ 754

(Second machine updated to 1.2GHz P3 Tualatin Core, OC to 1.4 to 1.5)

Athlon 64 3000+ 939 (Was updated mainly to get PCI-E Support)

PentiumD 805 2.66GHz, Overclocked to 3.5GHz but I have bumped it to 3.7GHz in the winter, and my max OC was 4GHz.

Now I use a Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2GHz, overclocked to 3GHz.

Intel Pentium II 300MHz

AMD Athlon 600MHz

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.2GHz

AMD Athlon 2600+

AMD Athlon X2 3800+

I think there have been more but those are the ones I specifically remember!

286 - 12Mhz (With Turbo on! :))

486 DX2 66

Intel Pentium 100

AMD K5 PR166

Some awful IBM Processor with a PR of 333 or something (Which was quickly replaced by....)

AMD K6-2 400

AMD K6-2 450

Intel Pentium 2 733Mhz

Intel Pentium 4 1.8Ghz (Willamette)

Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz (Northwood)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 @ 1.8Ghz (Laptop) - Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz (iMac)

I know that I have missed some out in there... I had a celeron laptop for a while, I am fairly sure that I played with a Athlon 64 before the X2... (Couldn't tell you which one)

Intel Celeron M 370

Current:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Technically my first CPU was an 8080. It wasn't 'mine' but I was writing machine code to run some industrial controls with it. From there it was

  • MOS 6510 (C-64) 1.02 MHz
  • MOS 8502 2 MHz AND Zilog Z80A 4 MHz (C-128)
  • Intel 8088 10MHz
  • NEC V20 10 MHz
  • Intel 80386 16MHz
  • Intel 80486 133 Mhz
  • Intel Pentium II 233 MHz
  • Intel Pentium III 700 MHz
  • Intel Pentium 4 1.8 GHz
  • Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz
  • Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz (oc'd to 2.7 GHz)
