+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted January 31, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted January 31, 2008 As the January sales come to a close Asda is offering a tempting PlayStation 3 deal - buy the 40GB console for its RRP of ?299 - but get two games for free.Offering a total saving of ?85.13 (back pocket patting savings indeed) the deal includes two particular titles - "Need for Speed ProStreet" and "FIFA 08". Price-wise this does beat Sony's latest official bundle for the console (dubbed "Pick N Mix") that comprises of a 40GB PS3 and two first-party titles for ?349.99 - although there is more of a choice with Sony's offer than just the two games. Asda spokes-folk said: "This is an amazing offer for all those gamers who were disappointed not to get the PS3 for Christmas." The offer is running from 31st January to 3rd February and will be available at Asda stores nationwide. And no, your girlfriend probably doesn't want one for Valentine's... Small window to get them though (4 days).
PiracyX
I saw this earlier today over at HKD. Obviously the games suck really, Need for Speed PS is bad anyway and FIFA 08 is average compared to PES2008. EA should have replaced NFS with Burnout and that would sell alot more id think. How much are these games going for trade in at GAME anyway i wonder? Still i rather buy my PS3 over at Amazon UK where i can get 2 much better games for ?329.99 or buy just the 40GB for ?279.99 and get my games later. Coldgunner
IMO fifa is better than pes2008 on ps3, mainly because pes just looks like the ps2 version with a higher res. seems like a good deal though, they should stick another controller in though. jerzdawg
not sure how things work in the UK... but as long as the games are sealed... I can take them to any Walmart and getting pretty much full store credit on a return without a receipt.... then I just pick out 2 games that I want...
