Sony's Michael Ephraim has revealed that over 28,000 PS3's have been given away in the promotion which allowed Australian's to pick up a free 40GB PS3 with every purchase of a new Bravia LCD TV. Ephraim said, on the back of the promotion, Sony has taken a 30 percent market in flat screens during Januray.
It looks like Sony's limited holiday offer of a free 40GB PlayStation 3 with every purchase of a new Bravia LCD television in Australia worked wonders for both the TV and gaming sides of the Japanese giant. Sony Computer Entertainment Australia head Michael Ephraim said more than 28,000 PS3s were given away as part of the promotion, which ran from December 21, 2007, to January 28, 2008.

"On the Bravia PS3 offer, we're now up to 28,000-plus--these are audited numbers from Sony. They have taken about a 30 percent market in flat screens for the month of January off the back of that promotion," Ephraim said.

I took advantage of this offer in the UK, but sadly these are only Australian statistics!

Still Sony will probably be pleased! (Y)

not that many then...

sounded like a fantastic offer

It's only Australia mentioned, and 28,000 Bravias in a month can't be bad at all considering the deals will have been on mid-top end models (costing more $$$).

The TV I got mine free with cost ?999 (and that was the cheapest!:pp)
