simsie
Hey. In this PC I have two sound cards a Soundmax Intergrated Audio and a Creative Soundblaster X-FI XtremeAudio... Both are recognised under PCLinuxOS 2007 by ALSA but only the Soundmax will work.. I tried changing the hardware position from HW:0 (Soundmax) to HW:1 (X-FI) And PCLOS accepts this, only there is no output. Messing around several programs have reported something about a Mixer not being present on the Soundblaster... Does anyone have any ideas because it is confusing me to hell... Thanks Simsie :)
Kreuger
Usually when you have integrated sound, you have to disable it in the bios to use PCI or any other form. Give that a try
simsie
Sorted it: For future reference what I did was: Download latest ALSA drivers (I used alsa-driver-1.0.16rc2 but just grab the latest. Turn the onboard sound off (where applicable). Extract the alsa driver and in a terminal CD into the folder... In the terminal: su ./configure make make install Restart the PC and it should start working automatically.
