When Vista SP1 RTM is available...

Recommended Posts

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is due out today.

Does this mean Microsoft will release it for the public today or does it simply mean its RTM and we still have to wait?

Im interested in downloading the ISO file so I can burn to DVD and format my PC.

The only thing I've heard is that it's rumored for release today.

Its either today or on the 6th when Windows Server 2008 RTM's (non Hyper-V editions).

I'm nearly 99% sure that SP1 is out today. Thats my gut feeling.

there won't be an iso file either, more like a standalone exe like it was with xp sp2 for example.

I just want to know how SP1 for Vista will be made available?

e.g. Windows Update / Direct download from Microsoft as .exe file / ISO file

Iv heard that you can download an updated Windows Vista ISO file that includes SP1 for genuine customers. Is this correct? That would be much easier.

why do keep on making threads like this? i told you in the iother thread already it there will most likely be a standalone exe (few hundred mbs in size) and the option to update via windows update. iirc microsofot wil lalso be sending out sp1 on cds.

All of sourced off TechARP, who didn't provide any source. It's still just a rumor, and I wouldn't be surprised if heaps of people are dissapointed if it doesn't ship today. If it does though, yay. :)

This is your third thread now, it's becoming tedious seeing 3 questions that could be dealt with in 1 thread.

It will most likely start out as a standalone exe. Then a network install. Then Windows Update. Then maybe an ISO

Agreed, sorry.

No credible source? Then no information.

At this stage, the plan is to have Vista SP1 out "Sometime in the middle of this month" - anything else is unconfirmed.

And your Mr.Microsoft who knows everything. The point is to get as much feedback as possible.

It'll probably only come as a standalone .EXE for retail customers.

OEM's and MSDN will have access to sp1'ed iso's, but i'd say thats it...

And kiwi's right, stop making threads about Vista so much. You've made at least 4 that i've posted in, all very similar to each other.

I had already read about the February the 4th date, but had taken it for what it was - a rumour. More likely it's the February 27th SP1 RTM / Server 2008 simultaneous release date.

It is 12 midnight in Redmond. MS doesn't open for 8 more hours. IF it is released today, it could be 23 hours from now and still be today.
