Need original termsrv.dll (64-bit) - accidentally overwrote backup

Recommended Posts

I was messing around trying to get some Remote Desktop functionality w/ my Vista Home Premium 64-bit installation, and I failed.

I also accidentally overwrote my original termsrv.dll because I neglected to put it in a safe spot.

Now, if I try to start terminal services, various things fail... I think I need to replace the file with the original to fix whatever I've broken.

Can someone help me out by providing an original? Is there a way to extract the original file off of the DVD?

Thanks a lot!

Well, if I can't find the Vista Home Premium, I'll try it, but I bet the Ultimate one is different (the reason for patching the Home Premium one is to allow remote desktop hosting, which is possible in Ultimate).

Could you not just take it from you're install CD?

// Edit: Ooops sorry, missed the bit asking how to get it from the DVD. There is a way, it's fairly easy with the XP CD however no idea with Vista as I don't use it. Sorry.

I did the EXACT same thing with Vista Home Premium. I was messing around trying to get remote desktop and now my xbox 360 will not connect. Did you figure out how to get it back to the original setup?

Replace it with an original Home Premium one?

Gangsta, do you have the Vista Ultimate 64 bit

If yes, do you mind emailing me the c:\Windows\system32\termsrv.dll

file to

panghel@live.com

By mistake, I overwritten mine. There is a way to recover it form the DVD but requires installation of the Automated Kit - about 1 GB

Thnaks for your help

I have the Ultimate termsrv.dll, do you want that?

Thanks a million for providing this termsrv file..have been seeking it for ages. Mine was corrupted, preventing any use of remote desktop and other relevant services....had no way to get it back short of a fresh install, which would have resulted in loss of all impt data.

THANK YOU!!!
