IE7 Password saving

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have IE7 (7.0.5730.13) installed and for some reason it no longer prompts me to save passwords. I have reset it many times but it never works. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Try This:

1. Click on 'Tools' in the Internet Explorer broswer.

2. Go to 'Internet Options'

3. Click the 'Content' tab

4. Click the 'Settings' button in the 'Auto-Complete' row.

5. Check the 'Prompt me to save passwords' box.

Hope this works for you :)

Hi,

I checked that setting and it was enabled. But, as this has worked in the past, I disabled it, applied, restarted browser then enabled it, applied and restarted browser. No luck.

If it matters I had IE7 Pro installed for a long time and only recently removed it as it seemed to be giving me some wierd issues.

AFTER THOUGHT: I also have the latest Google Toolbar installed and that has form filling, will that matter?

Thanks for the suggestion. Any others?

There's no such thing as "IE7 Pro"

I suggest you go to "Internet Properties" and click on "Advanced" tab and then under "Reset Internet Explorer settings", click "Reset" button. After that close your IE and then once again go to "Internet Properties" and then follow the steps "johncena001" mention above and apply and it's a best practice to restart your IE one more time for it to take affect. Tell me if this works.

Well there's your answer. The add-ons must've break your IE7. IE7 Pro is not from Microsoft. Microsoft only release IE7.

I removed that addon and reset the browser so it should be working now.
