PSN Europe: Everyday Shooter this Thursday

Recommended Posts

Those of you who have been patiently waiting for some of the games released for months already on the PSN store in America, will be please to know that Everyday Shooter is finally being released in Europe this Thursday.

Developed solely by Jonathan Mak, Everyday Shooter won three awards at the Independent Gaming Festival at the 2007 Game Developers Conference. Unlike traditional arcade shooters. The sound effects in Everyday Shooter play in musical harmony with the game?s background music, leading to a constant and harmonic interaction between the music, gameplay and visuals. Throughout the album of games in Everyday Shooter, typical arcade sounds of destruction are replaced with guitar riffs harmonizing over an all-guitar soundtrack, also produced by Jonathan Mak.

It?s been getting brilliant reviews ever since it?s release in America, so make sure you check it out.

I really wanted this back when it came out in the US, but it's been so long that my interest is now much less. They really need to get PSN games out in more regions at or at least close to the same time.

Just bought this game - how does it work? :s

I have no idea what to do :p

how is it any different from blastfactor / super stardust HD?

The idea is each level has a chaining system - Something you do that makes life 10x easier for you. Usually if successfuly pulled off it wipes a lot of enemies off the screen, if not all of them.

The goal is not to kill everything on screen, it's to stay alive till the song finishes. You see that is your goal, remain alive till the bar down the bottom fills up!

I find it a challenging game, as it's old school, you die, you go through it all again - Then there is the learning curve for each level, you need to find out what to do, and in that process you usually end up losing lives!

Collect the white points though, they unlock extras - The main extra you'll need first of all is buying new lives from the main menu.

I think im on 5 lives to start now, and I still haven't completed the game

You also get a new life each time your points score doubles, for example at 200 points, then at 400 points, then at 800 points.

Play with the sensitivity in the options screen for the right analog stick as well (shooting) - It starts at 40 something, I think I bumped mine up to 58 or low 60's.

how is it any different from blastfactor / super stardust HD?

I haven't played bf, but in stardust the goal is to remain alive, but it's also to kill all the enemies - As I said above ES main goal is to stay alive, but you make that easier by learning the chain system for the level and using it to quickly clear enemies off the screen giving you more breathing space.
