great, then i'll leave it this way,

I made this in Cinema 4D, rendered on my Mac G4

render time 52 sec for // 1280x960

and as for making the right bottle a bit shinier, the bottles won't be identical anymore ;)

i'm willing to share the image

woh, the floor looks way to squeeky clean. you should fade the reflections out in the floor.

also, the reflections need some tweaking on the bottles (unless it's made of mirrors ;) ). they're a tad to strong. maybe get some blurriness (is that a word?) to it.

It'd be nice if you could add some imperfections to the bottles, and make them unique in some way (a scratch or something). don't make it looks like you just cloned the other and rotated it a bit.

oh, and one more thing. see the shadows? they're complete darkness. take a look at shadows around you. they aren't that dark. add in a backlight to the scene with a low strength.

hope that helps :)

i know about the floor, that's justa temp. floor

as for the mirror effect on the bottle i'm workin on it, it will get the result of a very light bumped black plastic with a smooth top.

the model it self isn't finished it self either, i still need to add something to close the bottle.

but, i'm glad the metal wrap meterial worked aout very well.

The strip around the bottle is brushed metal, right? IF that is the case, then brushed metal wont have a high reflection as polished metal would. Think about it. Lower the reflection of the metal band and it would be more realistic.

if you're gonna apply that seemingly logical concept.. the bottle laying down wouldn't be so strong a reflection on the standing up one, would it?

it depends on the position of the light sources, material setting, position of the camera and alot of more things.

The floor was to reflective in the first image and the reflection off the bottle looked really weird, but the second pic is almost to the point that @ first glance it looks real.

Thats what we are talking about, for the light source and camera position shown, it should not be recieving that much of a reflection, it's too mirrored. The reflection should have a lower opacity, especially because it is a black metal.

I think it looks better with the reflective black polish instead of that bump map you're using.

 unless you like that metal-on-plastic look
