Thaumbody
I have been trying out the latest beta for Safari for Windows, but I have run into a strange problem. I cannot log into Neowin using Safari 3.10 beta. I can view everything just fine. Safari passes my log in to Neowin and it reloads... but instead of the expected message of Logged in as Zsantz. I get the Guest message. I've tried it at the portal and forums both and it will not log in. I do get the following error in Safari's error console: TypeError: Null value https://www.neowin.net/forum/jscripts/ips_menu.js (line 1) which may or may not have something to do with this. +John. Subscriber¹ Posted February 18, 2008 Subscriber¹ Share Posted February 18, 2008 I couldn't log in to various other websites using 3.1, went back to 3.0.4. I'm guessing they've addressed this, as it's been a while since a new release.
DaveLegg Developer Posted February 18, 2008 Developer Share Posted February 18, 2008 I have been trying out the latest beta for Safari for Windows, but I have run into a strange problem.I cannot log into Neowin using Safari 3.10 beta. That error would be a javascript error, and should have no bearing at all on the logins to the site (just in case, you could try logging in with javascript disabled) Judging by some of the other comments here, some versions of Safari have been having issues logging into various sites, so that could be the issue here. I've not been following the safari for windows beta program, as the first build I tried crashed every time I tried to access our development site, making it useless to me, but if all other browsers work fine, and safari for mac works ok, then I would assume it's down to that particular build. Maybe try getting hold of a different release, and see if that helps?

Thaumbody
Yes, going back to Safari 3.0.4 lets me log into Neowin. I'm going to miss the developer tools of 3.1 beta, but I can live without being able to change strings, use an error console, and the other little things.
