I'm really starting to love my PS3. It was only a Blu-Ray player when I got it but now its really coming into its own.

GDC08: Gameplay footage of Echochrome emerges from GDC

Thankfully a couple of videos have snuck out of GDC showing some gameplay, as well as detailing the five laws of perspective that the player will need to learn in order to get anywhere in the game.

By the way American Ninja you should index the important stuff in your first post,

I agree keeping everything in one topic for GDC is a good idea, but we might end up with 5,6,7 pages and stuff can be overlooked (N)

Today at the Game Developers Conference 2008, Logitech revealed the official Wheel of Gran Turismo, for Sony?s PlayStation 3.

The wheel, named Logitech Driving Force GT, has been crafted for use in Polyphony Digital?s upcoming Gran Turismo 5, and will be available in Europe on March 28th, and April 17th in North America.

Comments left by Jeff Rubenstein on the PS Blog about in-game XMB and the t-shirts.

It?s us being cheeky. It?s a developer?s conference, not hardware or firmware, so no announcements on that front this week.
If by ?VERY soon? you mean this week - debunked. I see the same rumors, and they?re just that - rumors. Literally 95% of what I?ve read this week is just groundless speculation. But hey, that?s the game biz.

You can take these how you want, he could be lying till they announce it, or he's telling the truth and were not going to hear anything about it.

Of course if we take his second comment literally, we could have it "very soon" :pst next week. :p

Yeah to come down to reality I expect nothing this big to hit us on Thursday.

Best I think we'll see is announcements saying each are near completition, or maybe if we're lucky an announcement of release dates for both, or one.

Of course, as you said, if you want to hold high hopes, it could just be typical Sony denying everything until their projected presentation/announcement.

It would never be Jeffs place to confirm anything, im sure Sony would prefer someone like Kaz or Phil to announce the statement to the media, so yeah, maybe he is just denying rumours as that's his job ;)

buy one! :woot:

I don't want to go an buy one, only for a 120GB model to be announced within a few weeks. Have the rumours completed died out now?

Obviously the HDD isn't a big deal (it is replaceable after all), but I don't want to miss out on backward compatibility. Whilst it isn't essential, it is something I'd like.

Staring into my crystal ball of predictions I think it's pretty safe to guess software BC will hit us at somepoint - Probably not too far off, maybe this year?

Why? PS2 games sold on PSN will make a prettttty good buck or two for Sony, and they've realised that publicly (in an interview they said PS2 games on PSN is an "interesting" idea).

Dropping BC for a short time to run down costs will no doubt be spun into a business/marketing genius of an idea by Sony when/if they unveil software BC - They'll no doubt "claim" software BC was in the works all along, and they highly regard BC as being important...blalalablah.

If BC is semi important to you you can always find a 20,60 or 80 GB PS3 on ebay http://shop.ebay.com/Video-Games_Video-Gam...tation3fab3fc3a :)

Played Echochome today. Loved it. Also got to play God of War: Chains of Olympus. Definitly would agree that it is a true God of War game... even full-on boss battle about 2 minutes in ala Hydra.

Also, all the PS3 controllers are DS3.

I took some screenshot pics on my camera phone, but unfortunatly don't have that USB cord w/ me to put them on my laptop to post.

Until then, enjoy this shot :p
