Slugsie
I'm having major problem access my GMail account on my works PC through Firefox (2.0.0.12). Until a couple of weeks ago this worked just fine, I was able to sign-in and read my mail (also personalised news etc), but now it just fails. The strange bit... IE7 works just fine. I can access other HTTPS sites just fine (like Live Mail) through FireFox, and I have no problems with any other sites that I can tell. When I try and access http://mail.google.com (or http://www.gmail.com) for a couple of seconds the status bar flashes a few times (appears to be flicking between a couple of addresses), then I get Firefoxs 'Problem loading page, The connection was reset' message. Things I have done: Cleared Cookies Cleared all History Disabled all extensions Uninstalled Firefox, cleaned up any bits that it left behind, reinstalled, and tried with a virgin install Because it's my works PC, I am behind an authenticating proxy (which is configured correctly within Firefox), and there is McAfee Host Intrusion firewall software (that is locked out of me configuring). HELP! :) *EDIT* Obviously, the title should read "Can't Access Gmail through FireFox"! :) Edited February 19, 2008 by Colin-uk fixed title for you :)

Slugsie
Just a thought, have you set Firefoxs proxy settings for http, https, and ftp? Yup, Firefox is set to use the same proxy for all protocols as that is the correct setting and the same as IE7.
