KaiSerSoze
Hi, I am using opensuse 10.3 on a laptop Packard Bell Bu45. This laptop has an Intel 945GM graphics card. Despite all my efforts i am not able to set my monitor resolution to 1440x900. I tried choosing a different monitor, even LCD 1440x900@60hz and nothing works. I can only set to 1280... Xconfigig was edit to 32 bits but X wont start this way.. Im stuck... how can I enable this resolution? anyone has this issue before?
markwolfe Veteran Posted February 19, 2008 Veteran Share Posted February 19, 2008 "despite all your efforts"? What does that mean, exactly? Have you installed xserver-xorg-video-intel? You haven't really given a lot for us to work on - not even posting your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file for anyone to look at. :ermm: This link shows how to do this in Ubuntu. I would imagine that using the SUSE commands to install (not apt-get) would help in your situation. http://linux.dell.com/wiki/index.php/Ubunt...GM_video_issues Or, according to this page: http://intellinuxgraphics.org/user.html You might need to install the 915resolution video graphics package. 4CxbqFxVnstmA Veteran Posted February 19, 2008 Veteran Share Posted February 19, 2008 If you haven't tried installing: 915resolution then you might give it a go. I don't know what package manager OpenSuse uses, but in Ubuntu you can go to System-->Administration-->Synaptic Package Manager and do a search for that and install that way. It looks like it might work for your problem. Sorry duplicate response! Yes, Mark I had that problem on a Dell and that was the solution. :D
