Codec issues with video screen capturing.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get a screen capture of me browsing the internet to then be able to import it into Premiere with the aim of exporting it as a DV AVI.

So far, having used CamStudio (finding this better than others, as it allows for capture size specification, codec choice etc), with the Micrsoft Video 1 codec (i've tried many others though like camstudios lossless, techsmiths lossless, MSU lossless - most will not play any video once imported into Premiere) I get the best result when finally exporting this out of premiere (edited with other video).

But the result still looks a bit compressed and dull:

Can anyone suggest a better way of being able to video screen capture, being able to then edit the video in premiere and still keep it looking good?? As I am stumped!
