Recommended Posts

my comp won't show pdf files in firefox, yet my dad's comp shows them perfectly in the window without having to open acrobat/acrobat reader.

i've checked firefox's settings and i'm stumped. what am i doing wrong?

Check the "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins" folder (or wherever you installed Firefox) for "nppdf32.dll". If it's not there and you have Acrobat/Reader installed, just do a search on your computer for it and copy it to the Firefox plugins folder. On mine it's also located at "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Browser".

it's in there, but it still pops up with the "how do you want firefox to handle this file?" prompter.

open adobe reader:

edit>preferences>internet>web browser options>display PDF in browser.

in firefox:

tools>options>content>file types>manage

extension=PDF

file type=adobe acrobat document

action=open with adobe acrobat
