I bought my online for less then $50. Thats for 13 months of online. Also the 360 comes with 2 games. Forza 2 and Marvel ultimate alliance right now. Only the 80gb bundle comes with a game for the ps3 And the 360 is now $50 cheaper in canada :p Edited February 23, 2008 by Sumeet
MightyJordan
He keeps telling me that the PS3 is the system that gets all the ports from the XBOX360 with degredation. He keeps telling me that there are simply not many games out still, a year after release The first point is false. Burnout Paradise, for example, was developed for the PS3, then ported over to the 360. As for the second point, yes and no. There aren't a whole load of games out yet, but bear in mind that the 360 was out a year before the PS3. There haven't been a lot of good PS3 exclusives out so far, but this year, it's all gonna change. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Metal Gear Solid 4, Tekken 6, just to name a few. MGS4 will be the biggest game of the year without a shadow of a doubt. Also, an interesting fact about the PS3. All their games are region-free, so you can buy them from import sites for lower prices, or even get games that don't come out over here! It also means you could get Rock Band if you're in the UK, and can't wait for it to come out over here. One of my friends has already done this. randomnut
OK I own both consoles here's my views on them both. Best console for gaming: Xbox 360. it's cheaper, and it has a lot more exclusives. IMO, games are better graphically, and more responsive, perhaps because it has more ram but I can't be sure. The PS3 has lost the majority of it's exclusives. The controller is just plain awful: it's light and feels tacky. The 360 controller is a lot better, comes with rumble without having to import it, the analogue sticks are in a lot better places to feel comfortable and are concave to be more precise, especially noticible in FPS games. Online, the Xbox wins as well. Although you have to pay, it's a small price compared with the better experience. Integrated friends list, in game access to it, and the back end infrastructure is just a lot better. I've noticed on the ps3 I get drop outs and very very very poor download speeds, let alone next to no content in the PSN store. If you are looking to watch a lot of movies, the PS3 does a better job with upscaling dvds and the bluray playback is spot on. if you want a mainly gaming machine, through my experience I deifnitely suggest the 360. PL_ Veteran Posted February 23, 2008 Veteran Share Posted February 23, 2008 (maybe and hopefully) Mac OS X Mac OS X isn't coming anytime soon. it is higher def than 360 No, it isn't. BR nearly unscratchable, if it falls unlike dvd it wont get scrached I don't know about you, but I can drop my DVDs on the floor fine :s HDMI on every console (unlike 360) False. All 360s now have HDMI. 7 controllers @ once This hasn't been true for a long time! motion sensing controllers (even better than the wii ( wii=3 axes ps3 = 6 axis(duh, sixaxis controllers) Wow...umm, yeah...no. A Wii remote can detect it's position relative to the TV in three dimensions, making it much more effective and interactive. The Sixaxis can only detect tilt and force, nowhere near as powerful as the Wiimote. The rest, yeah, the PS3 has it, but half of them the 360 has as well, and in a topic where the question is whether they should buy a PS3 over a 360, they don't really hold up as good points. Huleboeren
Before randomnut vanishes your wishes of a PS3 I just have to say not all experiences are bad :p most multiplatform games have been better on the X360 - probably due to the complexity of the PS3 and the lack of developer experience on the PS3. COD4 and Burnout paradise are proofs that the future is bright in regards to multiplatform games on ps3.. Both sides have lost exlusives - development costs have increased compared to the past and its just not possible for most developers to keep exclusive to one console anymore. What the controller needs in my opinion is; more weight(will probably be there in DS3), rumble(DS3), inverted trigger buttons(like on the X360) - but its a great controller if you know how to hold it, dont strangle it. Online - its great not having to pay since all youre really paying for on LIVE is an invites system. In-game xmb and invites should have been there from the start, but is very very likely to come this year. All games use the same friends list - some allow access to it in game, either through pop-up xmb or ingame menus Infrastructure? I sure neither me nor randomnut knows wtf goes on behind the curtain. I think speeds are specific to regions, my LIVE speed is poor compared to PSN. I have zero dropouts and I think those are just issues on randomnuts end.. PSN is added once every week and obviously cant match LIVE since it has been out alot longer than PSN. I think you should buy whatever platform has the most games youre interested in - or whatever platform most of your friends have, its great playing together with someone you know.. 7 controllers at once This hasn't been true for a long time! Why not? :s Im not sure you understand how those 4 red lights work..
GNRambo
7 controllers is not pointless - its great for party games and football/soccer/sport games Unless you have a 60" tv or projector, then yes it is completely pointless. +StevoFC MVC Posted February 24, 2008 MVC Share Posted February 24, 2008 Unless you have a 60" tv or projector, then yes it is completely pointless. Do any games have support for 7 controllers? :s not all multi player games are split screen. as he said, sports games for example could be played with 4+ players with no problems if the games support them.
