svn: Can't convert string from 'UTF-8' to native encoding:

Recommended Posts

Got this when I first connected to svn, following this post:

...
A	branches/lite/filesystem/usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples/utflist.long.gz
A	branches/lite/filesystem/usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples/utflist.short.gz
A	branches/lite/filesystem/usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples/utflist.cp437.gz
A	branches/lite/filesystem/usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples/spawn_console.c
svn: Can't convert string from 'UTF-8' to native encoding:
svn: branches/lite/filesystem/usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples/?\226?\153?\170?\226?\153?\172

When I try to update,

mark@mark-core2:~/shiftlinux$ svn up
svn: Can't convert string from 'UTF-8' to native encoding:
svn: branches/lite/filesystem/usr/share/doc/console-tools/examples/?\226?\153?\170?\226?\153?\172

Seems like an error to me, but I am so new to this, that I really am quite lost.

Mark, I'd have Dave Legg get you into the SVN........ he is our expert.... along with Simon and Crimson. I'll try to get him up with you.

I've added Dave to MSN, just need to find a time when we are both available (unless there is something he can set up and post here or PM me with via Neowin or MSN).

We'll hook up on this item sometime soon, I think.

EDIT: Just tried a quick svn up, and the darned thing worked this morning. Don't know if this was a temporary hiccup, or if Dave made some change. But it now confirms I am updated to Version 33. (Y)
