The Bourne Legacy (2012)

Universal has announced a fourth movie in the hit Bourne franchise.

Star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass will return for the new instalment, reports Variety.

The pair are currently working together on Iraq-set thriller The Green Zone, after which Damon will shoot Steven Soderbergh?s The Informant.

Greengrass directed the second and third films in the series, which is based on author Robert Ludlum's trilogy.

It was reported in 2006 that the franchise may stretch to five movies, but both Damon and Greengrass were reluctant to continue after the third film.

Damon insisted last year that he was "definitely done" with playing hitman Jason Bourne, saying: "I think we've ridden that horse as far as we can."

Looks like the horse has a little more juice in him. As long as it stays consistent with the other Bourne movies (minus the shakes), it should be good

maybe its just me, while the snd and 3rd were good, they weren't as good as the first, which is ironic sicne the director was the same for the 2nd two, but then it very well could of been the story telling, I don't know how the movies live up to the books.

Though I still find them entertaining enough to go and watch, so will probably see this one too. :D

Wait a minute...I thought the story ended at the end of the 3rd one. I really do not see how they could play this one. Think about it, the first one was him trying to remember who he was. The second one was him trying to find who killed his girl and why they came after him again. Finally, the third one was him trying to shut them down. Since he did that, what is there to do?!

Now, I own and love the three current Bourne movies...but I just dont see a fouth being anywhere as good..

Jason Bourne > James Bond. Bond is a ###### compared to Bourne. He should've been dead after the first movie, but he has all those little gadgets.

Seriously though. You "could" say it was like the American version of James Bond, but MUCH more realistic than any Bond movie. Bourne is actually believable as a character. He gets hurt, he stays hurt. He doesn't have any super gadgets to help him out of stuff, just instinct and skill.

I must be getting old and senile, 'cuz I just don't get those movies. I've seen all three, and I thought they were nothing but mindless action flicks that have been done a million times before.

@Hurmoth: It's European I think.

I think he is saying that its like its become an american james bond like with the action and the story and you can just keep making them.

Which one ?, Bourne Legacy ?, though Legacy is not Robert Ludlum work.

Yeah I remember watching the third and wanting to read the book but seeing it wasn't the same person who wrote the originals.

Yes, mock a movie that was made in 1962 comparing to film series in the 2000's, nice one. :p

And with the new James Bond film, he does all of that, he gets hurt, he doesn't have the super gadgets, just instinct and skill, and also doesn't have the awesome fighting moves of doom.

But I'll never see why people have to draw a line between them, why go on the defensive? cant you just let people enjoy both, since they obviously do otherwise they wouldn't of made more of either.

That's what I thought as well. I've read the first three novels but I didn't read the two other Bourne novels as I've heard bad reviews about it. If they are making a fourth film, one thing that they should remove is the Shaky Cam, which was just annoying in Bourne Ultimatum.
