Metal Gear Solid 4 Finally Has A Release Date!

Recommended Posts

So, any shot of that MG 20th anniversary bundle (MG, MG2, MGS, MGS2, MGS3) making it's way to the states before this game comes out. I'd like to have a clue on wtf is going on.

doesn't look like we'll be getting that bundle here. :(

however, we do get metal gear solid: the essential collection on march 18th.

Like I said above, that is all you need though.

Fair enough it's missing all the fancy extras of the anniversary pack, but for $30, getting all 3 main titles is the best way to go (Y)

Plus it's the rereleases of the titles as well,

Eg Substance, Subsistence, ect.

Yeah, 90% of gamers won't have played the Snes MG's.

MGS1/2/3 explain everything you need to know.

Weren't they also PS1 titles as well?

Maybe they'll be available on the PSN Store :)

Aw, who says there can't be Christmas in July??

Was expecting there to be a bundle for MGS4. I'm only concerned if there's a Gold or Ultra package I won't be missing out on something. I've been purposefully not getting a PS3 until MGS4 comes out. 1) Any bugs should be ironed out; 2) Wanted to wait to see how Blu-Ray / HD-DVD settles; 3) Money; 4) MGS4 is the only games I want to play anyways.

The MGS series is fabulous. Story line, character development, soundtrack, its utter perfection and sheer genius. I can't help but feel a bit patriotic and think about soldiers dying on the battlefield when I play the game.

And I'm one of the 10% who played the NES version. You're not missing out on much. Play MGS 1, 2, 3 and you'll get all the details as you play along.

so the bundle is for the usa right and when can we order that bundle and where like bestbuy circuit city or gamestop ebgames? The reason why I am asking is because ebgames and gamestop said they not selling the 80GB anymore because sony has stop making more of them because they are making the 120GB or etc that coming out in April 2008.Is this bundle only a online special or can you get it in the stores so if I go to ebgames or gamestop tomorrow and preorder this bundle will I be able to or will they have no clue what I am talking about? Also circuit city and bestbuy and walmart arent selling the 80GB anymore to because they are saying that sony telling them they stop making them.So can someone please clear this up and how to get this bundle and etc please?

Punctuation error overload! :pinch:

If you read the OP thoroughly, you would see that they are releasing it with an 80GB PS3 as a bundle. I don't think retailers will be refusing to carry this simply because Sony isn't producing the 80GB solo unit, which they are with MGS4.....which they stopped producing said 80GB unit.....but it's coming with MGS4..........

My head hurts now. :|

Sorry if I made your head hurt. I am hard of hearing my grammar is not the best and sorry for that and to the guys and gals reading my posts. But to redirect this what will the bundle have include and when can I buy the bundle and from who? Also are you guys telling me that the 80GB no longer being sold solo and that the only way to get a 80Gb is by a bundle?

This is the deal, the Moterstorm 80GB PS3 bundle has been discontinued. This will be replaced with the 80GB MGS4 budle when it releases, until then the 40GB is the only one you can get unless you still can find 80GB's.

the 80 gb has always come in a bundle here in the US. it used to come with motorstorm + a sixaxis controller, and sold for $500. recently retailers have been phasing out the 80 gb system, and sony probably did this to get rid of the remaining motorstorm bundled PS3s. with this announcement, it looks like the 80 gig will return in june, but this time it will be bundled with MGS4 + a dualshock 3, and will sell for $500...which is a much better value than the 80 gb bundle now.

Metal Gear Solid 4: The PS3 Bundle: The Cardboard Box

mgs4_ps3_bundle_box.jpg

Here it is, folks. The PlayStation 3 bundle with Metal Gear Solid 4 shipping in June with product photography proof. It might not have been our choice—we'd have gone with a stealthier plain brown box with the words "The Orange" on the outside—but we don't know from product marketing. We'd also have gone with a better camo choice, perhaps Snake in "piano black" with the Spider-Man font emblazoned in a full body pattern. I'm sure everyone else will find it just peachy keen. Here's hoping that Japan's got something extra special planned for collector types.

Man, they announce THIS a few days after I buy my PS3?! Typical.

I want it for the packaging alone

If it's only a few days after could you not get a return?

Fair enough though, you'll be without a PS3 for quite a few months before this pack hits :p

If it was actually worth it, I would.

Do we know when DualShock 3 hits Europe yet? Hopefully in time for this beauty.

I'm sure it will, I thought it may be coming out in time for Prologue?

Even if it isn't, if it's out in the states in time, importing one will be much easier/cheaper, as right now the whole world is importing from one market - Japan.

There is a store in my local mall that has stock, ?50 a peice. Quite temping, considering it isn't much more than buying an additional Sixaxis.

Do they work seemlessly with European consoles? Is there a list of compatible games?

?50 is a little high IMO.

You could probably import from Japan right now for about $50.

[quotDo they work seemlessly with European consoles?b> Is there a list of compatible games?

Yeah.

As for the games, I'll need to dig for that. Most older games are being patched for rumble, and newer games come with support already in.

I think we could be looking at April/May/June time before we see the DS3 Controllers which is one of the reasons why i haven't gone out and brought the console.

Who knows, once this MGS4 Bundle arrives, it could well have a bigger HDD by then.

The title is very misleasing btw, it has been confirmed June 22 for US, but nothing announced for Europe which more likely means it's not coming until a few weeks/months after.

Kojima can say he wants a worldwide release, but if we actually get it in the end is another story.

edit: I see you edited,

He makes the game, if you're not going to buy into his word, wtf are you going to believe?
