PS Store Overhaul in April?

Recommended Posts

While Metal Gear Solid 4, DualShock 3 and God of War news may have dominated our Destination PlayStation coverage, one other interesting leak came out of the retailer conference. According to sources there, the PlayStation Store is finally getting a graphical user interface overhaul, one planned to arrive alongside Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue on April 15. The revamp of the PlayStation Store is said to give it a look more in tune with the SingStore, pictured above, which is already accessible from the PlayStation 3 version of SingStar.

Details were light on the change, but beyond a coat of paint, word was that navigation would change to a series of icons running along the bottom of the interface. We don't have official confirmation on this one yet, so consider it rumor for now.

awesome news if true. i've seen the singstar interface in action and it looks pretty cool...definitely much better than the current store. here's a link to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5YScW9V460

GT5P, DS3 and new store in the same day FTW.

I'd definitely prefer for it to look more like the Singstar store

While I want the store looks to be improved, it's not a major issue for me right now - All I do with the store is enter, background download and then quit out.

What I'd like to see first is the regional issues with the European store fixed, or at least improved on.

I said in the other topic that I was hoping for something like this when they were talking bout the PSP one, so that they would hopefully make it better than what it is, something fancy.

But yey its happening. :D

Hopefully there will be a lot more going on in April too. :p

I have SingStar and the interface is awesome. Very quick and fluid. Be cool to have the PS Store looking and working in a similar way.

Did you guys forget about this? :)

One of the first examples of this strategy will be an expansion of the PlayStation Network. The network now is mostly used by gamers. Sony wants to turn it into a platform to deliver video, too. Sony will hold a press conference in two months to discuss changes to the PlayStation 3.

:D

So an announcement should be made this month :)
