WOWhawk Home Integration

Resistance:

One of the first games expected to shine in one of Home's series of game portals is Insomniac's Resistance: Fall of Man. Resistance is said to provide Home visitors with an interesting room to explore, one that will let PlayStation 3 owners visit unseen areas of the game and tap into bonus content in the form of "intercepted" radio communications between European and U.S. forces.

Uncharted:

While Resistance: Fall of Man's integration with Home should have bonus content fans excited, old school run-and-gun shooter fans should be pretty pumped about what they may be getting with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's contribution. We hear that the Home portal for Naughty Dog's PlayStation 3 adventure will follow in Resistance's footsteps, allowing Home avatars to explore the game's levels without the threat of being shot at, a nice feature. But it's the Uncharted mini-game that has us far more pumped.

According to our sources, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune comes to Home armed with a side-scrolling 2D arcade game, described to us as reminiscent of both Contra and Out Of This World. Sounds kind of like Capcom's 2D remake of Bionic Commando in its execution, full of enemies and exploding barrels to shoot.

Warhawk:

...the Home lobby for the Incognito dogfighter will serve as a "war room" where up to eight players can meet to discuss their strategy for an upcoming match. Sure, you could do that with text or voice chat, but it sounds like the developers have gone the extra mile to make planning your battles even cooler.

Using a three-dimensional "sand table" replication of the level, Warhawk players are said to be able to lay out their strategies in a properly scaled space. They'll even be able to place little army men avatars around the map to envision their formations, something we hope they can also do with teeny tiny Warhawk planes, tanks and Jeeps.

Even the warhawk stuff is rather pointless, and if anythign it should be IN the game, no need to walk around the sandtable with your virtual avatars.

I'm guessing it's going to be used as much as the planning mode of the old Rainbow Six games (wich was pure awesome, and a game in itself really), but poeple don't go together and plan strategies for games like these, they jump in and play, that's why we bought a game console, to play the damn game, strategies are made in the field and uually remain fairly constistent every time you play a map with a few variations depending on what the enemy does.

I don't see why they need home for this or how these features are better with home. walk around maps without being shot, yeah other games do that allrady, oh but you can do it with your home avatar.... umm yeah.. big effin deal, .

Good to see some integration popping up.

Home will be as new to developers as it is to us. Theres potential there for games to do cool things, let's see what else the developers can come up with.

All im really interested in is getting cool 3D trophies for certain things, but anything else is welcomed. Well, that and the ability to wear game "clothing" - For example an Uncharted tshirt or something you can unlock for doing something in-game.

I'd love there to be a FF tshirt that says "I BEAT OMEGA WEAPON" on the front of it or something :p - Of course only unlocked to you once you beat Omega weapon in FF13

Probably won't be called Omega weapon, but you know what I mean, the uber tough optional bosses.

I think integrating a 2D scroller is very cool.

I also think the whole planning out a strategy on a 3D visualization of the game map is really kick ass as well.

Sound bytes of "intercepted Radio Communications" in Resistance? Sounds incredibly lame, especially considering almost anyone willing to do it has already beaten the game and I am guessing these sound bytes will either apply to the game, or be mini commercials for RFM:2

I really am intrigued by the whole strategizing before a match, however I could not really imagine it being a pleasurable experience with strangers, then again I do not give strangers online the benefit of the doubt for conducting themselves in a manner I would want to associate with. If I am proven wrong, even better, but I can see that becoming a mess very quickly, and as such is definitely an option geared entirely towards clans and such.

With all of that said, it is the most intriguing things I have heard about Home so far though, as I am one of the few people who have stated I could care less about a virtual avatar and all of that stuff, so it is good to hear some of the other aspects I would be interested in.
