+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted February 29, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted February 29, 2008 I think you worded this wrong, that or it's to early in the morning and I'm reading it wrong :p Not worded well but it does still make sense :p Meaning GT5 Prologue is not as akin to a demo as GT4 Prologue was - It's more like a "game" than a demo. Snoopy2005uk
I never knew they had a certain date to meet.PD standards are very high, they take whatever time they need to make a game and fans know that. If you're about to diss the amount of time it takes to make a GT game, maybe you should do some research on what exactly goes on when making the game. You may enjoy other racers more than GT, but there is not one racing game on the market that goes to the lengths GT does to perfect everything, graphics, to sounds to actual content. Infact, watch this new video interview yourself about why Prologue comes out, Video: http://n4g.com/ps3/News-117260.aspx LOL, Q: Is damage ever coming? A: It's coming, uhhh, you know how anal these guys are when making this game, they are perfectionists "When we do damage, we'll do it right" (Y) lol loved that bit of the interview. Thanks for the link.

Now I get it. I agree, 60+ is more then some full priced games have. For those that can't wait till 2009 (I know I couldn't I already have the JP Prologue and thinking about getting the NA one) it's great. If you can wait then just wait you don't need to buy Prologue. Yes i know the quality control over making the game is high etc, But it still doesn't explain why we have to pay for a glorfied demo of GT5 which is what it is. I don't care if it has 60 cars coming and maybe 1-2 extra tracks and online support, IT NOT THE FULL GAME! END OF! not even close. Of course most of these arguements would be non-existent if the game was released for a very low cost, I am sorry but ?20-?25/$39.99 is not low. No i am not comparing it to other games, i am comparing it to GT games plus what the final product will be like. They need to almost give it away over PSN or something, instead they are being greedy. I stick by my word that they are releasing the prologue to re-coup some money and its purely because they cannot get the game anywhere near ready. They thought if they put a collective number of cars that they have done and add a few tracks and make a game out of it.........

Prologue aint much different than Warhawk, 60 cars, 5 maps, online play. Warhawk doesn't have more maps than that, and is online only. Honest PiracyX why the bleep are you taking soo much offence to Prologue coming out? Give it a rest, it's fan service and I proved above you have two situations. It comes out or it doesn't come out - GT5 will take the same amount of time to be ready. So would the world really be a better place WITHOUT prologue? No. GT fans would be annoyed. Still a glorified demo which ever way you spin it. ?20 is not too much in money no, but too much the GT Prologue, Yes. By that saying the full game of GT5 should be over ?100 because that's what it will have extra over Prologue in terms of content, then tell me if its worth it? Why are you even comparing Wii games? We all know the Wii is a FUD and so are the games. Look at the thread you started about Resident Evil Zero being ported to understand how much developers actually care about Wii, They even think its a FUD, else we would get great games and not ports/medicore releases. GT4 Prologue never sold that well, it was never cateraized as a proper game, else it would of sold Millions not just over a million which it did. I never got it, i waited for the full game of GT4 because that was worth my money, not some teaser version released all because they couldn't get the game ready. 1.35 Million that game sold and if you count how many PS2s sold (120Million?), its only about 1% of the market. GT5 Prologue will be very much the same, won't sell alot of copies because people don't want/willing to pay for a demo version for ?20. The bundle will help sales though who is in the market to get a PS3, but for me? I'll wait because this demo is simply not worth dropping my money of the console just to play this demo version. All aside i think this game will be great, BUT they are seriously taking advantage of their fanbase. If you can't see that, you must be Pro-GT. If they sell it for that and people buy it, whoop-de-doo. What if GT5 Prologue is better quality than some games are in final. It's just a taste of what the full game will be like. If they release that combo here in the US, I know I am buying it. Edited February 29, 2008 by biohazard
Jimmy0
I see the Prologue games of the GT series as directed to the 'hardcore' GT fans who literally cannot wait for the full game to be released. As such PD probably do not expect huge sales, but they are putting it out there for the people who want it - so if you don't, then wait like everyone else is for the full game. Corris Veteran Posted March 1, 2008 Veteran Share Posted March 1, 2008 I don't see why your complaining PiracyX, if they were forcing you to buy it, then fine, but they aren't. You can use the same reasons over and over for why you don't like it, but in the end, don't get it. Even if it is not as feature packed than some games, you could very well get much more playing time than say a full priced ?60 game. I suck at racing games, I've never owned a GT game, but I'll be buying this one
sn00pie
I cannot wait for GT5, and this is as good as it gets until GT5 comes out... so it makes sense that I will buy it the day it comes out. :) I won't be surprised to see the full release of GT5 to come out in 2009 even here in North America, Polyphony Digital (the company behind GT) is known for missing all of there GT release dates. EnzoFX
God, seems any thread about GT5/GT5:P always turns into this, uninformed complaints. Don't you guys get tired of explaining it? For those complaining, please get informed first! =P I stand by the FACT (yes, FACT, you'd be stupid to argue otherwise) that a $40 (right?) GT5:P is worth >>>>> than those crappy other racing games out there for $
sn00pie
well, Future Shop.ca says its going to be $69.99, i'm hoping there going to update that to $39.99 or $49.99 soon lol

Same here. Plus I just like to have a physical piece of media for a game. I went out of my way to walk to all the game shops after getting my Ps3 to find a disk version of Warhawk. Corris Veteran Posted March 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted March 2, 2008 I hate having to get up and swap discs XD Well I play the Ps3 in my room, I sit on my bed, the TV is only about say a metre away, and the Ps3 is just behind that with the games on a shelf just above and to the left of the Ps3, so changing the disks only requires little movement. :p

Keito
I didn't know, because I never wanted one - but I now played DiRT with a wheel (on PC) and it's way more fun
Danrarbc
It's for the "placeholder" one, a little over the top for a demo though I think :p still since GT5 has slipped to 2009 and the GTHD tech demo isn't cutting it anymore (can only race the one track so many times  ), I'm just gonna have to get GT5P to get my GT fix till the full version hits store shelves next year :) I'm sorry, but you're insane if you buy this demo. It's everything that was wrong with the PS3 launch strategy, with the recent performance it's obvious Sony gets it yet we still get Prologue. It most likely means the full game comes even later too, just ask some of the developers that had to polish up E3 demos - it takes time away from the greater project.
