Only problem is my laptop has custom connections, so i cannot change them. Which hdd would i use for an upgrade? Im looking for anything 150Gig upwards. Has to be a UK website to buy from aswell as i dont wanna risk customs charges.

SnowRanger13
It needs to be a 2.5" Laptop drive, needs to be a SATA (serial ATA) connector. The older PATA won't work. most of them are 5400rpm but a 7200rpm drive DOES make PS3 faster.

EnzoFX
^^ I'd agree, no point. Hell there's still laptops that ship with a 4200rpm drive.

SnowRanger13
Yeah a 7200RPM drive does run a bit hotter, and I agree in the 20GB or 60GB issue that might be a problem. But in a 40GB or 80GB that run much cooler and have the same cooling system it would not be a problem.
Corris Veteran Posted March 2, 2008 Veteran Share Posted March 2, 2008 Oki dokie. Well ive found a 320Gig from Dabs for ?108. Think ill get that. Where'd you find that? I want to get one in April, anything above 100gb would suit me fine. I feel quite squashed with only 40gb. For those that have put a new much larger one in, that's the sound difference like? (why does that question sound rude in my head?:pp) And a random different one, does the Ps3 defragment itself over time, or does it even need to?
