PS3 not saving display settings

Recommended Posts

I have my PS3 connected to my TV via HDMI and the resolution etc has been set up but sometimes when I turn the PS3 on it says it has found a HDMI connection and do I want to set it up etc. I'm wondering whether I'm doing something wrong but it doesn't happen every time I turn it on :/

Yep, your holding the power button down too long (you shouldnt hear a beep when switching on) just tap the power button and the red light turns green (no beep heard).

Problem Solved

My PS3 must be weird then. Because everytime I turn it on from standby, it always beeps, and yes, I do tap it.

I was gonna say about the OP, that you may have had more than one connection plugged into the PS3, as I do that. I've got the HDMI plugged into my HDTV, and the AV connection plugged into my PC monitor/LCD screen.

I use the controller to turn it on and it beeps the second I hold down the PS button on the Sixaxis.

Why does the fan run when on standby?

If you have remote start turned on, the fan may remain running ever so slightly.

This is due to remote start mode using a little more power than standby - The PS3 remains slightly more active so that you can turn it on/off anywhere in the world with your PSP.
