markwolfe Veteran Posted March 6, 2008 Veteran Share Posted March 6, 2008 Congrats! (Y) Linux is evolving quickly. And even an Ubuntu version release from 7.04 to 7.10 can make a big difference. Once you use it for a while, and see how (now that it is running the way you want) maintenance-free and worry-free it is to use, you will really fall in love with it. Seriously, I would not use Windows (XP or Vista) and NOT use Linux if Microsoft paid me $1000. I would miss Linux too much, I think.

Thats an over-statement of the year right there. Ubuntu is a great OS, especially for the price. But for the ease of use, theres a reason why Windows is #1. Thats an over-statement of the year right there. Ubuntu is a great OS, especially for the price. But for the ease of use, theres a reason why Windows is #1. The only reason why Windows is number one is because Gates could write a good contract for it that had forced manufacturers to pay royalties for Windows whether they included a copy on each system or not. In other words being number one doesn't always mean that it is the best available.
Thrawn
No OS should cause a working wireless connection to be hailed as a miracle. Good work Linus. :pc:
