Jock Horror
Hi Folks - sorry if it has been asked before - but does anyone know of a "ultramon" prog for Linux? I am trying to set up my tv-out with a different resolution, but so far I only got it with the same as my monitor... Btw, monitor runs at 1280x1024 and I would like to keep it and have the tv out at 1024x768. Thanks for any help - truly appreciated Edited March 9, 2008 by Jock Horror

Fish
I doubt this will be as easy as using Ultramon, but it ought to be possible. You may need to get your hands dirty with your xorg.conf file, though. http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12 A quick Google found this ^... may be of some use. Jock Horror
Thanks for that Mr Fish. Though it seems easier to change the screen resolution every time I want to watch media on the TV and change it back to default afterwards. I've already messed up a lot with the xorg.conf but no success... will keep trying when I find some time free
Jock Horror
I came across this site and it gave me some ideas --> http://www.lloydleung.com/2006/10/14/gnome...window-listing/ Just thinking out loud, brainstorming a bit, I think what I really need is to set up my S-video TV output as a separate monitor. Wonder if possible?! Currently the tv output is just a mirror of my main monitor. e.g., I cannot drag and drop a window on the TV, everything I see on the monitor is displayed on the TV... If I could set up the SVideo TV output as a second monitor, I think I could configure it just the way I want/need.... Any ideas please do let me know.
