zackiv31
So I've encoded two movies of my own, using autogk.. one plays on the ps3, and the other doesn't. They are encoded identically... Xvid w/ ac3 audio... I've actually done this for about 50 movies, and half of them play and the other half give me the unsupported data... what gives? I've thrown them both into gspot and compared everything I could and they look to be identical...
morficus
are you streaming them to the PS3 or doing it from an external drive? if you are using TVersity...you could use the "transcode when needed" option, but if it's from an external drive... I really have no clue...
zackiv31
It's from TVersity... but they are exactly the same codecs in each... they both play fine on my computer...

Sethos
It's some sorta' problem with the PS3. Had a few Xvid movies i wanted to watch, but only 2/4 worked. But the 360 played all four, so the PS3 is a bit picky.
User6060
filename length? iunno maybe the ps3 is just on its period or something.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 6, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted April 6, 2008 Never had any issues with AVI files, however I've heard people saying some of their stuff that didn't work in 2.10, now works in 2.20! Are you running the latest firmware?
zackiv31
2.20 did the trick... i wish the PS3 autochecks for updates (or maybe i can turn that option on?) I don't stay up to date on my PS3 firmware updates... lol
