King Antonius
As the title says, are there any small games or emulators that i can get running on yellow dog on my ps3?
troist
I think Sony don't allow access to the RSX for 3D acceleration in Linux, which makes games pretty hard run.

SnowRanger13
I think Sony don't allow access to the RSX for 3D acceleration in Linux, which makes games pretty hard run. Your exactly right. Without access to the PS3s RSX running anything graphical is hard. So all code has to run on the Cell, and unless the code is optimized for the Cell it will only run on the 1 PPC core and wont use the 7 SPUs. The PPC core can take 2 threads (like Pentium 4s and Hyper Threading). By default even SNES and NES emulators run slow. There is a command for the NES and SNES emulators I was using that split the sound to a different processing thread so this got the emulators to take advantage of the Hyper Threading like feature and NES ran fine after I did that, while SNES still had some fps drops but was easily playable. There are a few Cell optimized emulators, I forget where I saw them but they all ran great. When I'm home later I'll see if I can find the bookmark.
