troist
For about 90% of my xvid encoded movies I get "Unsupported Data". I've been re-encoding the movies to divx and then they'll play fine, but does anyone know of an easier way to get them playing? I tried changing the FourCC from xvid to divx but that doesn't help. Anyone got any tips other than using vdub to convert the movies?
Huleboeren
Weird - about 10% of my xvid encoded movies I get "Unsupported Data" :s I think the X360 is better suited as it isnt as picky as the PS3 when it comes to xvids and WMV-HDs
EnzoFX
My issue is when it's detecting all the various subfolders, they don't all appear right away. Sometimes, the Video files don't come up. I end up restarting, then They come up. Sometimes @ this point, I start getting the unsupported data error. If I do, I restart yet again, Eventually It works. I find this odd... Huleboeren
Are these your own movies you encode? ...hint... What settings do you use? How do you play them on your PS3 - through streaming? tversity?
troist
Are these your own movies you encode? ...hint...What settings do you use? How do you play them on your PS3 - through streaming? tversity? I play mine by copying to the HDD from USB. I get help making my backups from a friend so I don't know the settings... They're all XviD. When I use vdub to convert them to DivX (the version with a DX50 fourcc) they work fine on the PS3... its just a pain converting them and I was wondering if theres anything more quicker/less space consuming. I encoded them all in XViD using VirtualDub. Audio is converted to LAME. I find it strange how it works 100% on XBOX but not at all on PS3. Huleboeren
Perhaps your settings are too high For HD content I dont recommend using xvid/divx I hope future PS3 firmwares up the support for xvid/divx/WMV-HD
