Guest
I've installed Amarok v.1.4.8 from the repos using the package manager, and I love it. However, I have noticed a strange problem, in the collection it is showing every single track twice in the list, and also in the 'Context' view where it shows Albums by <Artist>, it is showing the track count as double what it should be, and the track names twice. So for instance, I'm getting (in collection) Blink-182 -> Dude Ranch -> Pathetic Pathetic Voyeur Voyeur Dammit Dammit Just in case its relevant, I have had (and been using Exaile) to manage and play music, which I also marked for complete removal (and removed) in Synaptic. I have tried completely removing Amarok from Synaptic (right-click mark for complete removal) and re-installing but no dice. I have also attempted to rebuild the Library, however the same problem keeps recurring. P.S. I am running Ubuntu 7.10 AMD64. The files are stored on an NTFS partition (if that's relevant). Kreuger
I've had this problem once in a while too. Usually I turn off the library (select no tracks to use in it) and then reselect them so it rebuilds the library and that usually fix it. You could try deleting your amarok folder in ~/kde/share/apps/ after completely removing it in Synaptic and reinstalling it again.
Guest
Thanks, I'll give this a go.. Another problem I noticed was that Amarok was re-scanning the collection for media very very often, this was causing my CPU usage to spike up to 50% (100% of one core). I know I can turn off the option to watch folders, but is there a way I can tell Amarok to re-scan at shorter intervals?

I completely removed Amarok, and then deleted the Amarok folder from home dir (/home/user/.kde/share/apps/amarok if anyone needs it for reference). Now I am only seeing one of each track. I think this has also fixed the problem of media scanning too. I'll keep an eye on that one though.
