PS3 Supposedly Hacked

Recommended Posts

It's now possible to play game images over 17.5GB with no lags!

i.load won't hang up anymore. So all bugs are fixed.

Big thanks to our beta-tester - DCP,FFM,Rob Samson! You guys are awesome!

And now a good message for all the 40GB owner - Jump for joy! You can run PS3 and PS1 backups, too! It was very hard to get it but we're proud of it!

So, please prepare your internet connection for this historic date, 'cause you will need to download 1.2GB (all in one package with manual).

Big_T and Zizzle will sign up on the websites ~ 5 minutes before the download is public. They won't answer private messages. So that's why they aren't regristed yet.

So and now we will have to wait to the PAL birthday of the ps3. I hope you got a party-hat :-)

Sony have supposedly fixed this in the 2.17 update.

I'm pretty skeptical as to this being real though... The fact that they've announced a release date instead of just releasing it seems a bit strange, but we'll see... I hope it is real. A PS3 version of XBMC would be awesome :D

So its only for 40gig SKU owners? :s EDIT: nvm

Yeah, PS3MC would be awesome

Is there a 2.17 version of the firmware already?

Yes but its a very small update - consists of bugfixes, improved compatibility for ps2 games that require harddrives and better online stability...or something :p

wtf? :p

Im against piracy somewhat but I do want homebrew stuff like on the xbox and psp

That's what the Linux development is for.

IBM actually has tools you can use in Linux to program specifically for the Cell, and it's something that Sony is promoting.

Suree.... I'll believe it when I see it, besides if 2.10 was hacked, then 2.17 will be hacked.

It only takes time for them to figure it out how to break Sony's code.. lol

Surprised it's taking this long actually.. lol..

But I want the XMB to be able to handle more video formats and whatnot :(

Sony have locked down the RSX though, which means its hard for linux devs to make video programs and thats what I really want from homebrew.

Release tonight the 17th. See, good things do happen. Even if this is a bust theres still Two and a half men and big bang theory new tonight on CBS.

The details are too vague and I heard nothing of this before, but infectus team say they had things under wraps with their argon chip that currently only works on wii... Will be very impressed if it works, as its true sony style (no requirements for chips).

Wonder what the HDD has to be formatted as? HFS+, EXT, or NTFS???? 18GB iso files arn't exactly going to work on the FAT16/FAT32.

Wonder if they are making torrents and usenet uploads too :/
