History of Linux Quiz

Recommended Posts

Got 90, only missed the last one because I've never heard of either one of those computers. Also guessed at when it was first released and got lucky. Knew it was 1991, had no clue which month.

Never touched or seen Linux and I still got 2 right. I was sure Linux started because Linus couldn't "afford" Windows but since that wasn't an option I knew it had to be a Sun OS he couldn't afford because their prices were (are?) insane.

I do remember briefly having OS/2 on our home computer when I was a kid... anyone remember why that died off so quick?????

30, Guessed most of them. I've only been using linux for a few years though. I'm more likely to pass a quiz on the present/future of linux rather than the history.

Got an 80 as I missed the last 2. The only one I really guessed on and got right was the date although I knew it was sometime in 91. Never heard of LinuxCare or those computers.

Your score: 40 out of 100.
I should've known a lot more as I had to do a write up on the history for school but some of them were rather obscure..

80 and I didn't cheat :D I'm quite proud of that. The questions I got wrong were the company which made the Unix Torvalds couldn't afford, and the release date of Linux 0.01

70/100. Why didn't they just do it out of 10?

I think Windows killed it off as being a better option.
