neojoker
I am running radeonhd as my driver for my ATI x1600 on Gutsy, and I am pleased with the performance. However, I cannot get xrandr to let me arrange my dual monitors. No matter what changes I make, they stay in a clone setup. If I run xrandr --output <output> --off, it will turn the appropriate output off, so I know it can recognize where they are. Any ideas on why I might not be able to get --right-of, --left-of, etc. to work so that I can have a true dual setup?
neojoker
I got it fixed! Rather than using xrandr, I was able to set it up statically in xorg.conf (had tried that already, but apparently I was missing a couple of lines).
anystupidname
Could I trouble you for a copy of your xorg.conf please?
Elv13
Why do you use radeonHD? This driver is not even accelerated, only the mouse is using some sort of graphic acceleration. The ati (radeon) open source driver provide 2D and 3D accel for your card and have much more tested code than radeonHD.
