nX07
I am debating on whether or not to purchase a logmein pro account, or to use Windows' Remote Desktop client. All my machines are running either XP Professional or Vista Ultimate so both can become a client and a host, so it's really just down to the numbers in terms of performance and usability. In terms of Logmein Vs. Windows' Remote Desktop, which is: a) Most efficient (uses less resources when idle) b) Most performance (Ability to use the machine without lag or disruptions)
AgEnTsMiTh
Why not just use UltraVNC? It is free and one of the best solutions.
MattL
Why purchase a LogMeIn pro account, I use the free account and have around 10 machines on my list. I have found LogMeIn best, no need to open ports on the firewall, no IP's have to be remembered you just login to your page and select the machine you want to connect to. Doli
I use Remote Desktop + DynDNS. If i need to wake on lan my Computer i use a small program on my flash drive but there is an website that can do it but you have your MAC and other stuff to do it so the flash program works because it saves all that stuff
Kraftman
I really like Remote Desktop as I find it to be faster and more stable than LogMeIn. I do have LogMeIn installed on all my computers that have Remote Desktop enabled, just in case the IP changes or the router resets.

AionXn_
If we have a password and/or multiple users on the PC..when we choose the restart button in LMI options, how will it connect us back when the restart is done? It'll obviously be stuck on the logon screen as it'll need a password to login...

It'll obviously be stuck on the logon screen as it'll need a password to login... It works still, I'd figure since it does it pre-loads it while its at the login screen like it does any connecting to the network/internet while at the login screen

Stuff5
Guys i have a question on remote desktops' apps. How can i install simultaneously a program from my computer to the remote computers? Instead of logging in to every machine individually just do the installation simultaneously at all machines.
Angel Blue01
Remote Desktop supports concurrent users, no other remote connection supports that. Stuff5, you'd need to put them all on a domain and deploy it via group policy
El-Diablo
RDC is better than log me in for sure. but if you do not have a static IP or a port forwarded properly it won't work. Such is the case with alot of the computers that my work deals with. We use log me in for the better part of our work, the only downers is the restarting of the pc's can be a bitch sometimes with log me in and it doesn't always reboot properly. I don't really know how well RDC does with rebooting, i think i recall it being decent.

Amano
I use LogMeIn Free :) and it do the job, and I never need the Pro account or anything else.
John.D
Rather use Teamviewer. I've never used Logmein. And never used RD since its been around. Nothing to add with TV either. You can set a password. You dont even have to install it. You can run it and select personal to use it Its easy to use. You can send and chat with it. Which is what I usually do when I help people, when I'm using it.
