Pixel Junk Monsters

I was Hooked immediately after playing the demo. Had the Impression it was pure simple, enjoyable gameplay. But then, Things do get a little more complicated, for lack of a better word. <3 It

I didn't like how you couldn't tell if the upcoming monster was invulnerable to fire, cannons, etc. But then I realized that not knowing added to the depth of the game. It certainly keeps you on your toes. Nevertheless, It required multiple retries to get a perfect score. Best PSN game yet! (or one of) IMO

I love it. My strategy usually involves 4 flamethrowers at the entance of the screen, followed by a couple of laser towers. Then all i need is a few cannons and some bow and arrows for those pesky spiders.

Have stardust HD, was entertaining at first. Haven't played it much in a while.

And yup, that is usually a great strategy King Antonius. Except for those few maps where they're flame resistant all of a sudden! The blue guys I didn't quite get, nor did I see them as often. I guess they we're just super shielded. I beat the game the other day, The unlockable tower is pretty neat.

Ever many hours and quite a few retries, I rainbowed every level in PixelJunk Monsters. That game is a blast. I can't wait for an expansion!

wow

I spent more than an hour the other days trying to get a rainbow in one level and I couldn't do it. I love it but its not an easy game.

It's not an easy game, but I don't think it really gets harder as the levels increase, you just have to play them differently. The first levels are all about upgrading the towers you can get. As you go on, you have to be better at buying the right towers at the right time. Placement of towers, as always, is crucial.

Up above, "Ever many hours and quite a few retries" was supposed to say "After many hours..."

i was hooked very quickly also, i still cant beat the 4th level

ive been playing everyday shooter, i feel that is the best PSN game, the replay value on that(even though playing the same levels to get back to where you were[untill you unlock them]) is still amazing, i find myself playing it everytime i play my PS3

ES.... aaaaahhhh I still haven't completed it.

It's damn hard.

Sometimes I loathe that it goes all the way back to the start, but I actually overall like that it does that.

I can really see an improvement in my game playing skills related to ES - I know how to chain each level effeciently, not lose lives, ect.

Most of the times I die on the crowded levels just because there's soo much going on!

I've been wondering about Everyday Shooter. So far I've been very disappointed in the PSN games (fl0w and Pain come to mind) but PJ Monsters was awesome, and Stardust HD is pretty fun. So I guess you guys recommend it? There need to be demos for every game like on XBLA. $10 is cheap for a game, but not one I know absolutely nothing about.

when you buy a new tower do you keep them in the next rounds?

Nope. That's the tough part about it. You only get your pick of the 3 towers at the beginning of all of the levels. I think they control the towers like that in order to keep the scoring system accurate. You do get a couple goodies along the way when you start passing entire Easy, Medium, and Hard areas, but for the most part, they keep the game pretty even for all players.

So strange that I found this topic - I just had my roommate download the game and it's AWESOME. Easily the most fun waste of my time ever.

I think playing with two players is a lot more fun than just with one.

Also, has anybody figured out a good way to beat the 4 trees map?

^^^ Ahh, the 4 trees!

and ditto on the 2 players being more fun. Me and my bro would get perfect up to the Boss, but then He'd still break through and rape all the little guys... Closest We came was by using mortars, and mines (an unlockable).

I bought this game after downloading the US store (DAMN YOU EU). Fantastic fun, I've been doing each level, and not moving onto the next until I rainbow it, I can tell you, it's taking a while!! Probably played for about 5 hours and only just got to the bottom left of the map, the bonus one with just spiders!!
