Vista SP1 and VistaGlazz

Recommended Posts

So I upgraded to Vista SP1 and my theme got lost.

I used VistaGlazz to repatch the dll's but it won't work anymore. Whats even worse is that when I try to change the theme to regular Aero, I get a rundll error.

Oh ok. I didn't realize VistaGlazz didn't work with Sp1. I thought I may have done something wrong. Thanks. Lemme check out that link.

Microsoft finally released SP1, for real, and I don't know which SP1 UXTHEME.DLL patch to use, any ideas? Or do I just wait until an official VistaGlazz release?

I wish VistaGlazz would get updated to support SP1. Otherwise it's just too much work to install the patched theme files.

You can even write a script to do it for you, thats what I did.

Give it a few days, or week i'm sure a new version will be out for it.

Wouldnt be too sure about that, considering the RTM version of SP1 has been available for over a month.

  • 6 months later...

umm... i tried to install sp1 but it failed. the build is still 6000 (info from Run...->winver) but VistaGlazz won't work. It patches the theme files, but it won't patch uxtheme.dll, etc. What can I do?
