[NSFW] Model shots for sale at a car show/portfolio

Recommended Posts

for her, and a few other girls that I shoot, I don't charge, because I manage them and their portfolios, so I just get 15-20% of what they sell the pictures for.

For other girls it really depends, If its a girl I think has potential, the first shoot may be a TFP/TFCD shoot, to see how they photograph. If I have girls coming up to me, My rate is around 150$ for a 2 hour shoot, $300 for a 4 hour shoot, which includes as many outfit changes as they want, a makeup artist, as well as a couple copies of the shots. If they want prints for sale, such as what these were used for, then the prints are 2$ a piece for a 8x10/8x12, and 5$ for a 12x18" poster. I do other sizes such as wallets and such, but the majority of my shots go straight to models portfolios as 8x10/8x12s or get printed to sell at shows.

I undercharge for my services alot, but I don't really mind because I really enjoy doing it, I have alot of fun, and I help people out. Plus its not my day job, I'm an Engineer for Lockheed Martin, so that pays the bills.

Oh yeah, and I only retouch up to 10 shots or so for each shoot for the models to use, if they want others done the rate is negotiable depending on what they want done.

I wanna know where the star went in the third pic :p For some strange reason, that was the first thing I noticed when I looked at all the shots. They are nice quality, that just caught my eye for some reason.

Damn it! I picked the wrong career... :( Should have been a professional photographer! *Kicks himself*

He said he's an engineer for LHM, so that's not his career. So don't give up on yourself yet!

Photoshop ate it... lol i was experimenting to see how they looked without the star, as I'm not a huge fan of the tatoo

guy goes to auto show, looks at import models ( 90% of them asian ) then assumes every asian women are import models.

No. I've been to many auto shows and have plenty of asian friends who I don't classify as "import" models or "######".

And that's enough of that here. If you want to discuss import models and their influence on asians, feel free in Members Metropolis or The Soapbox, but not in this thread or forum.

Her choice in clothing, or lack thereof just throws me off. I get the whole sexy thing, but... i dunno, the approach feels cheap

The pictures are great, she's probably "hot", but yeah, the clothing and all is weird for me

I'm sorry if i offended you in some way? See...I hope you're not trying to classify or judge me or my models...because that would be extremely ignorant of you.

For starters, I do not shoot nudes at all. Most of the outfits I hand pick and purchase for each shoot, with the exception of a few, such as her lingerie (i picked the sweater). I try to pick stuff to wear as well as the poses that make the model look sexy, but at the same time classy. You will never see any spread eagle, gratuitous butt shots, or any other "slutty" poses you see on other sites, and im not even going to start, a search on google of asiandreamgirls would point you in the right direction.

Secondly, How are you going to judge a girl in a picture when you haven't even met her? For all you know, she could have a PHD and an iq of 140, hell Terra Patrick has a PHD and she does porn. You are incredibly shallow to judge a woman based on a set of photos.

And Thirdly, since I'm not going to go all out here, is that everyone that has seen her pictures likes them, and from the 100 shots that we have sold so far, I'd say the grand that we've made off these images at shows indicates other people like them. I am not the type of photographer that is going to try and make girls look slutty, because that degrades them as well as other women. If you have any further problems with me or my models, please kindly email me or PM me, do not bring it up in a discussion...this was only for comments and critique as well as to share with people who may find such images attractive.

thanks Saxondale. I normally budget tons of time for shoots, as follows:

1 month out: brainstorm ideas for the shoot with the model, and start working on outfits, times, and location.

3 weeks out: finalize outfit ideas, work on expected results from both parties

2 weeks out: finalize expected results, determine what print sizes, if any, will be needed, so I can budget for cropping. Finalize date and time of shoot as well as location(s)

1 week out: verify model is still scheduled, and will be able to make shoot.

Day of: shoot, budget for 3-4 hours to include setup and tear down time, as well as take test shots to check lighting, use colorimeter to measure white balance, or in lieu of that, use test strips.

This shoot was pretty much done with 1 day notice, and we were limited to 3 hours, only about 2 1/2 of which was actual shooting, rest was setup and tear down, and outfit changes, and the only outfit we had pre-determined was the grey sweater, she brought her own stuff, and I had about 8 hours to perform minor touchups to the photos before sending to the printer.

In addition, while I am actually very impressed with the results, this was my first time shooting with a ringflash, and I intend to practice much more with it.

Thanks all for the comliments!

I'll keep posting new shots, as I have 3 more shoots over the next 4 weeks.
