jordanspringer
hmm, never had a problem with it, its actually very easy. its not that hard at all. if you're finding everytime u press down it goes up, and vice versa, try inverted aiming options. soniqstylz
you can just do it via keyboard and mousehttp://www.ps3focus.com/archives/120 But that's also game-dependant. UT3 supports M/K, but I'm not sure about CoD4. Haze will use it as well.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted March 21, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted March 21, 2008 Took me sometime to get used to it, and I'm still pretty average at best with console FPS games. Online anyway, I can troop through SP campaigns no problem. Nothing beats a KB/M for FPS games, but once you get used to console controllers, they ain't that bad (Y)
+BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted March 21, 2008 Subscriber¹ Share Posted March 21, 2008 M/KB = Win Pad = Lose IMO, maybe I'm just old school? For example I breezed through Rainbow Six: Vegas on PC on hard level, gave up on same game using a pad on easiest level :( Have been trying again recently, but its still very hard :(

Bhav
You will get used to it! Just solider on. Yes KB/M is more accurate, but let's be honest...the future of FPS (and most PC games) is on consoles.

goji
M/KB = WinPad = Lose Sony Pad = Double the lose! The 360 has the most ergonomically created pad alive. Sony, learn a lesson, it isn't about rumble, its about comfort!
morphen
My opinion is this ; Precision FPS gaming is NOT for consoles. As long as it does not support mouse and keyboard. You will get used to it! Just solider on. Yes KB/M is more accurate, but let's be honest...the future of FPS (and most PC games) is on consoles. Heck no, no serious FPS online gamer will ever convert to playing the same games on consoles. Joypads for FPS gaming (without some sort of autoaim) cannot be used when playing fast pasted games. You just cannot get the same control. The control you need can only be gained by using a mouse and a keyboard. Also, with the amount of custom material for computer games, like maps and things like that, the consoles need to get alot more dynamic with the way they handle games and their material/content, as well should game programmers be when coding games for consoles. Both the X360 and the PS3 has harddrives(or harddrive support, utilize it). Custom material is the key to the success CS,CS:S,TF,TF2 and many more games have had over the years. like halo 3; WHAT THE F***, PAYING FOR A MAP PACK?!"#? morphen
Comfort you say. :p I feel your sarcasm, but still; Microsoft has progressed since this, sony hasn't ;) The 360's controller even looks more comfy than the ps3's :p Not much has changed since 1994, has it? (thats 14 years!) What's even worse, like the PS1, the PS3 was released without rumble :p Even though this was due to patent issues, it's still a funny similarity:p
Narlzac85
controller comfort is opinion only and not all that relevant to this discussion, but for what its worth, I still like the Dual Shock and just dislike the asymmetry of other controllers. Also, each user's comfort depends on the games they play and their own hands. I play lots of racing, platform, third person and rpgs on consoles, and not that many FPS titles and I have small hands. Back to the topic, joypads don't offer the precision of a mouse for aiming, but they sure win for walking (keyboards are not analog at all and haven't changed since they were invented for the most part). I still believe that the mouse and keyboard combo is as good as it gets for RTS games though.

Digitalx
id say stick at it play online and stuff and you'll get hang of teh controls because repeatedly using them will def get you able to memorize them and find it comfortable. I use to play socom 2 for hours on end on ps2 online since then i've never had a problem moving between pc and sony controls. game i recently just bought on ps3 medal of honor airborn is a bit tricky using r2 as trigger im use to usually using r1, but yeah i'm good with it. Alfista
i believe gamepad is better than mouse and keyboard. as long as you find the best sensitivity noone should have a problems. gamepad is always easier for me than keyboard and mouse because every single button you use is there and easy to find because of the designe but in keyboard i hate to go forward with the W key and holding shift to run and pushing space and than push 1-8 to switch weapons. in gamepad this is much easier since if you move the left stick a bit forward your character will walk and if you pull it forward all the way than your character will run. the moment i got used to PS3 controllers i never played a FPS on my rig which has a 8800 GTX card. i only use my pc for strategy games such as command and conquer. (of course though PC has better graphics but if your PS3 is hooked up to a big screen than the fun you will get is better despite the graphics might lack a bit than PC) So overall. i switched to PS3 gaming from PC gaming for these above reasons as well as PC games tend to crash sometimes and irritating. I have yet to see a PS3 game crashing. there are always drivers being released and to be honest after 1.5 years with vista and 8800 gtx i am still not happy with the drivers. you are stuck in your pc a few inches away from the screen on a chair but in ps3 you are in your sofa away from the screen and in a better comfortable sitting position. PC games always have options from low to high to change the graphical settings and when i can not get HIGH level (such as crysis) and play smooth i get very mad because i spend 500 bucks for my 8800 gtx when it first came out. i love the PS3 games being optimezed and u never worry about changing detail levels. I prefer you switch to PS3 from PC beucase it is simply much more fun. however if you are not going to have a HD tv and a big one than i say you better stick to PC until u get a nice TV.
