Kraftman
I'm thinking of buying a Wii in the next week or so, and I'm trying to formulate a shopping list/buyer's guide/wish list of items to buy along with the console. So far, the only things I have are: Wii console (incl. Wiimote + Wii sports) Wii play (incl. Wiimote + Wii Play) Nunchuck x 2 Wii first-party component cables (480p) Super Mario Galaxy Super Smash Bros. Brawl I have 3 Gamecube controllers already, which will be used solely for SSBB. On the XBOX360, I like: Bioshock COD4 Gears of War Burnout Paradise Rock Band/Guitar Hero Halo 3 In a nutshell, I like shooters (mostly), music (only good games), adventure (only good games, Drakes Fortune/Ratchet and Clank-esque). I do not like RPGs (including Mass Effect & Oblivion).
APH-Alex
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. :) Oh, and Metroid Prime: III By the way, 1 Nunchuck controller is included with the Wii console, but not Wii Play, afaik.
Dotdot
Check out the following, Red Steel (fps) Battallion Wars (fps/rts)
Admodieus
If you like shooters, you have to pick up Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. And you can't go wrong with Zelda, either.
PL_ Veteran Posted March 22, 2008 Veteran Share Posted March 22, 2008 Yeah, you only need one nunchuck.
Hooya
Forget Wii Play. Save the $10 and just get the remote. The games on that are pretty worthless if you ask me. As others have said, you get a remote and a nunchuck with the console, so I'd say just get one other remote and one other nunchuck. Also, you don't need to get the first party component cables. Get whatever is cheapest or easiest for you to get. A cable is a cable in this particular case. The most played games on my system in no particular order: Mario Galaxy Excite Truck Metroid Zelda Guitar Hero (don't bother since you have it for XBox of course) Smash Bros. Super Paper Mario Judging by your likes you listed you'll probably get a kick out of Medal of Honor (whatever the most recent one was for the Wii) because of the killer control scheme and as someone else said Battalion Wars. Best multiplayer/party game in my opinion is Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (not the first one). You can play it with up to four players right out of the box without having to unlock everything in single player mode first.
gunnerhkjp
Resident Evil 4. The Wii version is a fantastic game.

Gilly
What about Mario Kart?
Hooya
What about Mario Kart? Probably. But nobody has played it yet. It hasn't even been out in the wider hacker circles. It's got a NA release a little more than a month off (April 27). The EU release is April 11 (I know, weird the US is the last region to get this one). Kraftman
Thanks so much for all the help guys. I ended up renting a Wii yesterday... and hating it. I don't like anything about it to be honest. I don't even like how the whole "motion-sensing" thing goes down. Not the system for me. I would like to own one, for sure (SSBB + Mario Kart + Galaxy), but it's not worth that much of an investment for 3 games, and I can't even be sure I will like their control scheme [other than SSBB w/ GC controller, which was epic fun 2v2]. Again, thanks for all the help and advice!
