+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted March 26, 2008 Subscriber² Share Posted March 26, 2008 Chris Hinojosa-Miranda(Associate Producer, SCEA) sheds light on the release time for Gran Turismo 5. Also, to further clarify, GT5 is still about a year away. You should just decide now to buy it, enjoy it, go online and race against anyone and everyone, rank number one worldwide, get the girl (or guy) and become the most popular kid in town. The end. Source: http://n4g.com/ps3/News-127689.aspx via http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/03/25/.../#comment-50800 2008 was wishful thinking, I think most people expected 2009! Here is hoping Q1/Q2 2009. And you wonder why people are thankful for prologue?! The waiting for GT games is lengthy. In the end though, I thank PD, for the amount of "painful" hours they put in for perfection :p
User6060
I think they would be dumb to miss out on a christmas release date. That's my guess.

+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted March 26, 2008 Author Subscriber² Share Posted March 26, 2008 I think they would be dumb to miss out on a christmas release date. That's my guess. The PS3 has enough going on this year, and three big titles we know of (RFOM2/Killzone 2/LBP) are all hitting months before xmas (september-november). Therefore I don't think PD mind waiting till the schedule is a little less packed. Prologue will sell well throughout this year, so they'll be making profit regardless of missing out xmas 2008. Well technically they won't miss out xmas 2008, Prologue will still be selling.
Xerxes
They can take all the time they need, I know the wait will be worth it and I'll definetly grab it when it's ready :) till then, Prologue will keep me occupied (starting tomorrow hopefully)
sn00pie
PD has never once made a deadline for a full version of a GT release. I don't expect GT5 till mid 2009 at the latest... i've said it before and i've said it again. :D
Coldgunner
In hindsight, would we rather they rushed it for a xmas 2008 release? I wouldn't, IDM waiting a few more months for a better bug free experience *looks at kotor2*
Mike
I think they would be dumb to miss out on a christmas release date. That's my guess. GT games *always* sell no matter what time of the year so not having an xmas release date is no biggy
