.NET Enterprise Server 2003 Build 3718

To use it as a server you don't need Direct3d or Opengl.

If you do want them then use XP, its a Server not a workstation OS.

If as you say you are a newbie what you doing with a server OS ?

He is right you should use XP and not .Net

However run dxdiag and enable it from there. Make sure you have OpenGL drivers though as the ones from M$ don't support OpenGL ;)

That doesn't make it right a teacher wanting to enable direct3d / opengl, he should use XP as there is nothing to gain from these on Win Server 2003.

Nobody will ever listen to you, didn't you know that a server OS is to play with as a desktop? [end sarcasm]
