Jason
To use it as a server you don't need Direct3d or Opengl. If you do want them then use XP, its a Server not a workstation OS. If as you say you are a newbie what you doing with a server OS ?

Jason
I gave the correct answer, USE XP if you want OPENGL / DIRECT3D.
tomwarren Veteran Posted February 3, 2003 Veteran Share Posted February 3, 2003 He is right you should use XP and not .Net However run dxdiag and enable it from there. Make sure you have OpenGL drivers though as the ones from M$ don't support OpenGL ;)

Jason
That doesn't make it right a teacher wanting to enable direct3d / opengl, he should use XP as there is nothing to gain from these on Win Server 2003.
Joel
That doesn't make it right a teacher wanting to enable direct3d / opengl, he should use XP as there is nothing to gain from these on Win Server 2003. Nobody will ever listen to you, didn't you know that a server OS is to play with as a desktop? [end sarcasm]
