darkz Posted March 31, 2008 Share Posted March 31, 2008 hello! i'm running ubuntu 7.10 (w/ the default vnc server) and ultravnc to connect to it both pc's are connected in lan. this is my 2nd or so attempt with vnc -- how do i get it to run as fast as it can? the menu's open fine, but resizing/moving windows is jerky etcetc Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

darkz Posted April 16, 2008 Author Share Posted April 16, 2008 wow dude, i didn't see you reply well it's not that bad anymore -- turned out i had the hd plugged in the wrong ide hole, so the whole system was slow. but i couldn't know it, cause that pc's sitting in the wardrobe without display or keyboard. i need this so i could shut down other computers at night -- great way to save electricity :) also, disabling menu icons, font smoothing and other stuff like that helped to gain more speed too. now it feels like a normal single core pc, just under some load.
