Widdowmaker
I need a media player that can do playlists. Totem can do video, but i cant get it to add all my media to a liost for me to pick out of. I also have Beep Media Player, but it also does not have a playlist function. What is a good video/music player that can add all my media to its library, have playlists, and is lightweight? Thanks much.

mitch00
Why would you want a video/audio player? Most apps are suited towards one task, and can only do the other so-so. I think you're better off getting 2 different dedicated apps for each specific task. Forgetting what I just said, VLC I would guess is the best multi-purpose media player. For standalone audio with playlists, I'd say Rhythmbox or Banshee or maybe Quod Libet. For video, I use gnome-mplayer.
Borbus
My favourite video player is SMplayer. It's a front end for MPlayer with a much more complete GUI than GMplayer.
