You need to be sensible on IRC, and appreciate that a lot of the people u talk to dont care, and dont consider it real life. I could pretty much guarentee the 'egging him on' aspect would have occured in most large channels. Maybe he payed the price for a level of anonimity, I like to make a point of at least one person knowing who I really am, and where I'm sitting.
